Spearfishing oadvent4.jpg

The locations visited during your off-shore adventure on board the M.V Taiho offer some fantastic opportunities for those who like to do some hunting underwater.

Spearfishing trips can be catered to any serious enthusiast as well as anyone who wants to come along but isn't into the sport as much like a partner, friend or family member. They may choose to do other activities while you spearfish like scenic snorkeling, sightseeing, scuba diving and fishing.

Target Species: Snapper, kahawai, trevally, kingfish, john dory, butterfish, giant boarfish, blue mao mao, pink mao mao, blue moki, golden snapper, crayfish, paua (ablone), scallops (when in season) and more!

Types of Terrian: Weedlines, shallow fowl, gutters, reefs, blue water, pinnacles, deep drop-offs, sand etc!

Not only is there plenty of spearfishing on offer but also stunning underwater scenery. Because many of the locations are found out from the east coast of the north island of New Zealand you can expect clean crystal clear water most times of the year. Blue water adorns many of the off-shore islands and it is common to encounter 10 to 20 metres visibility during your visit offering any spearfishing enthusiast a wicked adventure as well as prime oppurtunities for video and photography.

His love and passion for the ocean is reflected through his guiding and you are sure to learn plenty during your time spent with him in the water.Rob has a massive array of equipment that can be offered to anyone who needs suiatable gear and also runs a shop that carries a good range of core spearfishing equipment.
